Austin Revolution Film Fest

What an incredible time I had celebrating both Robot and Overdue at #ARFF.

With an abundance of nominations, we felt so welcome and honored. Overdue won Best Short Film, Melissa Skirboll and Penny Jackson were named Directors Choice for Best script for Overdue. And Melissa also won Best Pilot for 7 Years. For Robot, Tom Ryan won for Best Editing - Sci-fi Short film.

I was grateful to have been nominated for Best Script Short Film Drama for Scarred, also Screenwriter of the Year for the same piece, Best Actress in a Short Film for Overdue, and the Margaret Ann Garza Actress of the Year Award.

After the Shadows is in the can... and A Mark of Grace is released

Had a wonderful time recording Amanda Cabot’s upcoming murder mystery, After the Shadows, at John Marshall Media this week. The book is the first in the Secrets of Sweetwater Crossing Series.

And Mark of Grace, the final installment Kimberley Woodhouse’s Secrets of the Canyon Series, is released on the same day. I had the good fortune to narrate all the books in this series and I hope you enjoy the ride.

Overdue... a lovely review...by The Independent Critic

Thank you to Richard Propes at The Independent Critic for this lovely review of Overdue!

https://theindependentcritic.com/Overdue

"...the screenplay for Overdue is impressive and this is a short film that beautifully weaves together a tapestry of both comedy and drama..."

”…Howard Hendrix Powell and Jeanine Bartel are impressive here. Powell radiates sincerity while playing completely intoxicated. He's a charmer, obviously far less mature than Maureen but mature enough that we can believe in their spark. Bartel dazzles as Maureen, a woman who feels weary, though she still has a warmth in her eyes and is completely and utterly compelling.”
